A contribution of Nobel laureates in physics for 2000 in development of information and communication technology is discussed. On the occasion of 100th anniversary of quantum idea the evolution of quantum theory during XX century is described. Recent principal experiments are considered briefly, such as the stopping of light, the creation of quantum mechanical superposition of macroscopic states, and quantum teleportation.
