An Improved Technique to Supress False Parasitic Signals in Experimental Photoreflectance Spectra

Abstract

Photoreflectance is a method based on the interaction of the electromagnetic waves of the visible spectrum with the purpose to characterize the parameters of the matter. One of the wider used method is known as double modulation. The goal of this paper is to propose a variant of the original one, which has significant advantages. In this case, two PIN diodes are used to compensate the monochromator and the laser scattered light. Also, signals coming from the chopper driven circuit are employed in a way that makes unnecessary the additional analog circuits used in the original method. With the aid of LabVIEW, a digital model of the improved method is investigated, an a set of conclusions and recommendations are derived.
